Introducing

Elisavet Kyriakou

I am a Speech and Language Pathologist providing evidence-based assessment and therapy, with a primary focus on children’s communication needs. My approach is personalized, ethical, and family-centered, aiming to build clear, functional communication skills that support everyday life. Collaboration with families, educators, and other professionals is a central part of my work, ensuring that therapy extends beyond the clinical setting and into real-life environments.

Clinical Experience

Our pediatric speech and language therapy service focuses on measurable, functional progress through a structured clinical process and practical home strategies. We start with a comprehensive assessment (case history, observation, standardized and informal measures) to identify the underlying causes and how they affect communication at home, nursery/school, and socially. From there, we create an individual therapy plan with clear priorities, specific targets, and a realistic timeline, and we monitor progress with ongoing data, regular reviews, and clear feedback for parents.

We support children across speech sound difficulties (articulation/phonology), late talking and language delay, receptive and expressive language, social communication, fluency (stuttering), early literacy foundations, feeding therapy, and speech/feeding support related to cleft lip and palate and other craniofacial differences. Therapy is evidence-informed and child-friendly, with structured sessions and parent coaching so skills carry over into everyday routines. Where appropriate, we collaborate with schools and other professionals to ensure consistency and generalization.

Professional Experience

A strong academic foundation has been built through a Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology from New Bulgarian University, supported by more than 460 hours of supervised clinical internship in Bulgaria. Practical training across multiple therapeutic settings included assessment and intervention for children and adults, covering articulation and language development, written communication difficulties, emotional-behavioral and communicative disorders, and adult neurological conditions such as dysarthria and aphasia. Ongoing professional development has included intensive training in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) for Speech-Language Pathologists (Assist Foundation, Bulgaria), Pediatric Dysphagia Management, and specialized education in cleft-related feeding and communication through the EUC Congress in Nicosia (June 2025) and an IALP course on feeding in non-syndromic cleft palate (September 2025). As a bilingual Greek and Bulgarian speaker, culturally sensitive support can be provided in multilingual contexts with a clear commitment to evidence-based practice.
